Never Forgotten

The view across the upper Worth Valley from my Mother-in-law’s field. I love how the dry stone walls accentuate the contours of the hills. When Julie unexpectedly passed away, I wasn't sure how to keep working. One thing that helped me was how supportive she had been for my art. She was from a farming family well known in Keighley. We use to sit in her field, a proper cup of tea in hand and talk about how the light across Keighley changed so dramatically quickly in front of your eyes, creating ephemeral moments of joy. She had wanted me to paint her something, so this pushed me on to continue my work, to do it for Julie!
