From a young age I have had various jobs, both voluntary and paid running alongside my art practice. I have helped to plan and run educational and fun creative activities in a variety of community settings from inner city Bradford to the depths of National Trust ancient woodland.

I have also worked in educational settings, specialising in working with young children with profound and multiple needs. I have had the privilege to be able to plan and run art activities, create sensory interactive spaces and sensory gardens, incorporating Makaton, PECs and intensive interaction that is meaningful to each individual wherever possible. I also planned, ran and marked my own ASDAN printing classes for a class of sixth-former students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

I realised my passion for working with people in a creative environment early on, when I got the opportunity for my week of work experience at school to work alongside the artist Emma J Lazenby. We worked with Cartwright Hall and Allerton Primary, Bradford to create an animation about a year 4 class's interpretation of Anish Kapoor's 'Turning the World Inside Out' (1995) and what might be inside it!
