Aftermath

Whilst waiting for a train one day, I realised I had time to kill, so I went for a wander along to the recently burnt-out Dalton Mills. One of Keighley's larger post industrial mills, Dalton Mills had been the set for many films and television programmes, including Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey. I had been focussing on painting positive things about Keighley and this certainly wasn't. However, Light has such a strong power to lift our spirits and warm the heart. I saw an image I felt was so beautiful I couldn't get it out of my head. Something about the light made it feel almost monastic. This moment gave me so much joy, I had to paint it!
